Project for Pride in Living, Inc. (PPL) is a respected non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable housing and supportive programs to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing instability. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work awake overnight shifts between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM
- Flexible and adaptable to changing needs and situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Ability to use office equipment and computer software including MS Office and security systems
- Ability to identify crisis situations and de-escalate when necessary
- Strong personal and professional boundaries
- Ability to lift and/or move 10-25 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with youth strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem solving and initiative taking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to identify and manage crisis situations including de-escalation
- Competency with MS Office, Outlook, and security system software
- Strong desire to serve diverse cultures and social situations
- Understanding of chemical dependency and problematic behaviors
- Strong sense of personal and professional boundaries
- Pursuit of BA/BS degree in related fields preferred
- 1+ years experience in human services, social work, or related fields preferred
Job Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff
- Monitor building security and access using security camera and door system software
- Respond to resident inquiries and provide supportive presence, especially during overnight shifts
- Identify crisis situations and de-escalate potentially volatile circumstances
- Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary to maintain safety
- Maintain accurate records and operate office equipment including telephones and electronic timecard systems
- Support daily front desk operations and ensure smooth communication between residents and management
