Job Description
Presbyterian Rust Surgery Center is a leading ambulatory surgery center (ASC) committed to providing superior medical care in a fast-paced and challenging environment. As an integral part of the outpatient surgery community, the center focuses on delivering high-quality clinical services along with exceptional patient experience for patients and their families. Operating with a team-oriented approach, the center prides itself on efficiency, professionalism, and personalized care. The facility invests in state-of-the-art technology and fosters a supportive environment for healthcare professionals to thrive and contribute meaningfully to patient outcomes.
The Front Desk Associate role at Presbyterian Rust Surgery Center is a full-time position designed for a highly organized and communicative individual who thrives at the intersection of frontline customer service and administrative support. As the first point of contact for patients, family members, physicians, and visitors, this role requires a professional demeanor, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. The Front Desk Associate plays a vital role in ensuring smooth patient admissions, efficient communication between departments, and seamless office operations.
This role entails operating the telephone system to direct calls appropriately, taking messages, and identifying the nature of inquiry or business, effectively serving as a communication hub for the center. The Front Desk Associate performs essential clerical duties such as managing mail and messages, monitoring and replenishing office supplies, and maintaining postage meter operations. An important aspect of this job is assistance with chart preparation and patient admissions, including checking in pre-operative patients, copying identification and insurance information, and liaising with Pre-Op nursing staff to support clinical workflows.
The role demands attention to detail when collecting patient financial responsibilities as determined by the Insurance Verifier, reinforcing the center's commitment to transparency and efficient revenue management. Additionally, the position requires flexibility to provide relief support to other departments such as Admitting, Office Assistant, and Scheduling whenever necessary. This ability to adapt contributes significantly to the center's smooth daily operations and exceptional patient service standards.
Applicants should expect to work in a dynamic and inclusion-driven workplace where diversity is embraced and contributions from all team members are valued. Presbyterian Rust Surgery Center is part of USPI, a national health care leader that partners with physicians and healthcare systems across the United States to provide ambulatory solutions marked by clinical excellence and operational efficiency. USPI’s inclusive culture prioritizes respect for individual differences and supports each employee’s unique contributions, creating a collaborative environment where employees take pride in delivering exceptional care.
The Front Desk Associate position typically requires sitting and handling telephone communication for extended periods, along with performing clerical and administrative tasks integral to the daily operation of the surgery center. Reasonable accommodations are available to ensure that all employees can perform essential functions effectively. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a respected healthcare organization dedicated to quality surgical care, patient satisfaction, and employee well-being. The center provides competitive compensation aligned with the responsibilities and skills required for the position, emphasizing professional growth and work-life balance.
