Job Requirements

- Minimum of 1-2 years of front desk or hospitality experience preferred
- Experience with hotel management systems is a plus
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Job Duties
- Review the front desk log for any unusual situations or conditions and communicate with outgoing staff
- Count the money in the cash drawer and sign in for the shift
- Check the number of occupied rooms using the rack or computerized Expected Arrivals Report
- Review reservations for incoming groups, room blocks, special requests, and VIP requirements
- Assign and block rooms, ensuring guest details and stay dates are accurately recorded
- Separate guaranteed reservations from holds and check for duplicate bookings
- Post all telephone, food, and miscellaneous charges to guest folios
- Review the Housekeeping Report to ensure accuracy with in-house guest records
- Review check-out folios to ensure a zero balance and verify credit card approval codes
- Notify guests exceeding credit limits and request immediate settlement
- Prepare guest registration cards for pre-registration
- Review disputed charges and collaborate with management for resolution
- Prepare a Shift Deposit Report, count cash drawer funds, and secure the deposit in a locked safe
- Update the Front Desk Log with pertinent information for the next shift
- Ensure proper uniform and adherence to hotel appearance standards
- Accurately maintain a cash bank and perform guest accounting functions
- Maximize room rates and promote hotel services to achieve occupancy and revenue goals
- Inform management of unresolved guest complaints and suggestions
- Read and adhere to all posted memos and company policies
- Follow the hotel telephone etiquette standards
- Notify Housekeeping of late check-outs and stay-overs
- Contact guests who have not checked out on time to confirm their revised departure
- Replenish front desk supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and order at the front desk
- Collect and sanitize room keys and organize key storage
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, events, and departmental functions to assist guests
- Demonstrate proficiency in using front office equipment and software
