The Front Desk Assistant position at DePaul Riverside Apartments plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the community. This full-time day shift role involves welcoming guests, residents, families, and service providers with kindness and professionalism, acting as the first point of contact for everyone entering the premises. The Front Desk Assistant is responsible for screening individuals for secure and safe entry, answering incoming calls, handling inquiries, scheduling appointments and tours, and providing information about the site. This position requires excellent keyboard skills and a solid understanding of general office procedures, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold residents' rights. The role also involves assisting with common space activities, ensuring the reception and building areas are tidy and welcoming, and performing routine site checks to maintain safety and order.
This position offers an excellent hourly wage range between $21 and $21.30 and includes a beneficial package of medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, and more. Job Duties
- Respect and maintain residents' rights and confidentiality
- greet and welcome guests, residents, families, and service providers promptly and courteously
- perform screening of all individuals for safe entry into the facility
- communicate effectively with English-speaking individuals and respond promptly and cheerfully
- receive and route incoming calls appropriately
- document accurate messages when staff are unavailable
- assist in scheduling appointments and tours
- provide tours of the building to families and potential residents
- assist tenants, vendors, staff, and visitors by connecting them with appropriate persons or resources
- be knowledgeable of site specifics to provide answers if staff are unavailable
- assist with common space activities, events, and setup
- maintain a neat and welcoming environment in the reception area
- receive applications via walk-ins and route them appropriately
- conduct site rounds to ensure safety and cleanliness
- assist with clerical duties including scheduling community spaces and transportation needs
- drive or transport residents or tenants as needed
- attend staff meetings, in-services, and training as required
- perform additional duties as necessary for efficient community operation
