The role open is that of a Front Desk Agent, a crucial position within the hotel's operations. This role requires a professional with excellent communication skills, a hospitable demeanor, and efficiency in managing guest interactions. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for greeting guests warmly, managing their check-in and check-out processes, and addressing any inquiries or special requests promptly and accurately. An essential part of this position includes assisting with pre-registration and managing reservations, ensuring the smooth operation of the front office. Candidates must have comprehensive knowledge of the hotel's computer or manual reservation systems, proficiently handle financial transactions including cash, checks, and credit card payments, and apply an understanding of hotel rates and discounts. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to perform tasks related to office environment with prolonged sitting standing and walking
  • Ability to lift and move 10-25 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to use Front Office computer systems effectively
  • Knowledge of hotel rates and reservation procedures
  • Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
  • Ability to work varied schedules including nights weekends and holidays
  • Strong work ethic and self-initiative
  • Team player mindset
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling including receiving cash checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures including how to take same day reservations should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
  • Know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
