Job Description
Reside is a prominent leader in the alternative-accommodations sector, specializing in housing solutions that blur the lines between traditional hotels and apartments. Operating across more than 200 cities in the United States as well as 130 international destinations, Reside offers a unique multi-platform logistics service model. The company prides itself on combining the personalized and attentive service characteristic of smaller companies with the extensive capabilities and scale of a large global organization. This enables Reside to efficiently manage housing options while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and operational flexibility. The company is headquartered in Washington DC, with a key location at the Navy Yard - 818 Potomac Avenue SE, where they continue to grow their footprint and strengthen their hospitality offerings.
In this role, Reside is seeking a part-time Front Desk Agent to join their team on the overnight shift, with compensation ranging from $17.00 to $21.00 per hour. The shift schedule is flexible to adapt to the business needs and may include holidays, alternate workdays, or hours. Typical work shifts vary between day shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm), afternoon/evening shift (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm), and the overnight shift (11:00 pm - 7:30 am). This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, hospitality-driven environment and enjoy providing top-tier service to guests while handling administrative and operational tasks.
The Front Desk Agent serves as the primary point of contact for guests at Reside’s properties, delivering courteous and efficient service from arrival through departure. Responsibilities include managing check-in and check-out processes, accurately handling guest billings, and ensuring reconciliation of financial transactions at each shift’s end. This role is pivotal in maximizing room revenue and maintaining high occupancy levels by supporting daily property operations and keeping front desk systems running smoothly. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability are crucial, particularly as the position demands handling a variety of shifts, including overnight hours where focus on financial accuracy is heightened.
Candidates for this position should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have college coursework in hospitality or related fields or equivalent experience. Previous experience in a hotel front office or similar environment is highly desirable, especially for overnight auditing. Proficiency with computer systems, including property management software, and strong customer service skills are essential. The ability to work independently or as part of a team, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professional behavior consistent with company standards is expected from successful applicants.
This role does not include supervisory responsibilities but may involve providing cross-training to other staff members. Occasional travel (up to 5%) may be required. Employees will work primarily in professional hotel settings, dealing with guests, management, and colleagues in environments that range from busy and bustling to quieter overnight shifts focused on auditing and reporting. Physical demands are generally light but require the ability to stand or sit for extended periods and manage repetitive tasks. The position offers a blend of competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k with employer match, paid holidays and vacation, and additional perks designed to support employee welfare and professional growth.
