Job Description

Reside Craftsman, A Wyndham Residence, located at 208 W. 8th Street in Los Angeles, CA, stands at the forefront of the alternative accommodations industry. Reside is an innovative company designed to blur the lines between traditional hotels and apartment living, providing guests with flexible living solutions that combine the comforts of home with the high standards of hotel service. The company operates across more than 200 U.S. cities and extends its reach to 130 international destinations, offering a broad network that supports both short-term and extended stays. This global presence, combined with the localized, personalized touch synonymous with Reside, ensures guests consistently experience convenience, comfort, and customized service tailored to their specific travel or living needs.

The part-time Front Desk Agent at Reside Craftsman plays a vital role in maintaining Reside’s high standards of guest service and operational excellence. This position is a key point of contact for guests from check-in through checkout, demanding a dedication to attention, courtesy, and efficiency that elevates the guest experience from first impression to farewell. The role involves managing front desk functions such as check-ins, checkouts, and reservations with accuracy and professionalism. Additionally, the agent is responsible for reconciling financial transactions and auditing daily reports to maintain operational integrity. With varying shifts including day, afternoon/evening, and overnight schedules, the Front Desk Agent must possess flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing business needs, including work on holidays and alternate days or hours as required.

Beyond guest interactions, this role supports property operations by maximizing room revenue and occupancy, demonstrating the strategic impact of front desk activities on overall business success. The Front Desk Agent is expected to maintain smooth front desk systems, uphold property standards, and comply with all cash handling, credit, and audit procedures according to company policies. They are also tasked with maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring the front desk and lobby areas are welcoming and up to standard. Attendance at meetings and training sessions is mandatory, ensuring ongoing compliance with Reside’s standards and continuous professional development.

Though this position does not supervise employees, the Front Desk Agent may provide cross-training to peers, enhancing team capacity and flexibility. Minimal travel, up to 5% of the time, may be required. The role entails coordination with various departments, prompt response to guest inquiries about services and local attractions, and cooperation to exceed guest expectations. Occasionally, the agent may assist with porterage functions to enhance customer service experiences.

The ideal candidate brings at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with college coursework in hospitality or related fields preferred. One year of hotel front office experience, particularly overnight auditing, is advantageous, coupled with proficiency in computer systems and property management software. Strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team are necessary. The role also values problem-solving abilities, a professional appearance, and the capacity to maintain confidentiality. Given the nature of the position, candidates must be prepared to work flexible, possibly long hours, including weekends and holidays, and manage light to sedentary physical demands.

At Reside Craftsman, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes competitive pay ranging from $25.63 to $31.25 per hour, commuter benefits, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k plans with employer match, paid holidays and vacation time, success share bonuses, and various employee programs like tuition reimbursement, volunteer opportunities, and referral incentives.
