Job Description
Hotel Saint Louis is a distinguished member of the Marriott Autograph Collection, a prestigious group of multi-award-winning hotels recognized for excellence in hospitality and guest services. This hotel embodies a blend of historic charm and modern luxury, situated in a vibrant city that attracts both business and leisure travelers. As part of a globally respected brand, Hotel Saint Louis offers an environment that is both welcoming and sophisticated, combining the personal touch of a boutique hotel with the benefit of extensive Marriott resources and standards. The hotel prides itself on high-quality guest experiences, elegant accommodations, and exceptional customer care, making it a preferred choice for visitors to the area.
The Front Desk Agent role at Hotel Saint Louis is essential in maintaining the seamless operation of the hotel’s front-of-house services. This position offers flexible part-time or full-time employment opportunities, catering to individuals seeking a dynamic work schedule. The Front Desk Agent acts as the first and last point of contact for guests, ensuring their stays begin and end on a positive note through attentive, courteous, and efficient service. Responsibilities include managing guest check-in and check-out processes, handling reservations accurately, and providing detailed information about the hotel and local attractions. This role demands strong interpersonal and communication skills to address guest inquiries, manage payments, and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
Beyond regular front desk duties, the agent supports various hotel functions such as assisting guests with luggage, managing the preferred guest program, handling safety deposit box access, and operating or assisting with shuttle services when necessary. Agents are expected to be knowledgeable about all hotel services and amenities, enabling them to promote upgrades and other offerings effectively, thus contributing to the hotel's revenue targets. An important aspect of the role is adherence to company standard operating procedures to guarantee safety, security, and a high standard of guest service.
The ideal candidate for the Front Desk Agent position will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and bring experience or familiarity with hospitality industry standards, especially those associated with Marriott and other major hotel brands like Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt. They should be comfortable with both technology and cash handling, including maintaining a house bank and processing payments accurately. Physical requirements such as the ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, and move efficiently throughout the hotel are also necessary.
Hotel Saint Louis fosters a team-driven culture that values professionalism, enthusiasm, and mutual respect among employees. The hotel emphasizes effective communication within departments and values feedback aimed at continuous improvement. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that strives to exceed guest expectations in a luxury hotel setting. Candidates who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and eager to work in a flexible, fast-paced hospitality environment will find this position rewarding and engaging.
