The Front Desk Agent role at Hotel Saint Louis is essential in ensuring guest satisfaction from the moment of arrival to departure. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt standards
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary workplace language
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Basic computational and computer skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the hotel services and local attractions
  • Ability to stand and move well-paced for up to 4 hours
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks including operating office equipment
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Passion for people and service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or secondary qualification
  • Experience in hotel front desk operations with recognized hospitality brands
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions
  • Knowledge of hotel services and facilities
  • Ability to use computer systems and software relevant to front desk operations
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • Register guests into the computer, verifying reservations, addresses, and credit information
  • Promote the preferred guest program and provide recognition and benefits to members
  • Accept payment for guests’ accounts during registration and checkout
  • Maintain a house bank and report receipts daily
  • Cash checks and exchange currency for guests
  • Issue keys and control access to safety deposit boxes
  • Post miscellaneous charges as requested
  • Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints
  • Answer telephone promptly and courteously
  • Accurately take reservations
  • Perform check-ins and check-outs efficiently
  • Assist with shuttle or transportation services if applicable
  • Help guests with luggage upon arrival and departure
  • Use guests’ names to enhance the personal service experience
  • Be knowledgeable about local area and hotel services
  • Handle messages, wake-up calls, mail, and faxes
  • Assist guests with laundry and dry cleaning needs
  • Follow all company standard operating procedures
  • Perform other assignments as directed by the General Manager
  • Maintain professionalism and positive attitude as a team member
  • Communicate effectively with all hotel departments
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety/security procedures
  • Aggressively seek opportunities to upsell rooms and amenities
  • Stay current with hotel developments and franchise honors programs
  • Verify all guest reservation and payment information
  • Complete shift closing reports accurately
  • Protect guest room information confidentiality
  • Report potential sales contacts to the sales department
