We are currently seeking a Front Desk Agent to join our dynamic front office team. This role is critical as it involves being the first point of contact for our guests, managing check-in and check-out processes, handling reservations, and providing reliable customer service throughout their stay. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage various tasks with accuracy and courtesy. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of front office operations, including cash handling, reservation management, and familiarity with hotel policies and rates. The role may involve working varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 front desk coverage. Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in front desk or customer service role preferred
  • Proficient in computer systems and reservation software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
  • Should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
  • Know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
