The Front Desk Agent, also known as the Guest Experience Coordinator, plays a pivotal role in upholding the hotel’s standards of exceptional guest service. This full-time position is ideal for candidates who are passionate about delivering attentive, courteous, and professional assistance to guests throughout their stay. The Guest Experience Coordinator is responsible for managing key front office operations including guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, and front desk inquiries. The role also extends to supporting The Café by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring café areas are clean and well-stocked. With a pay range of $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, this position offers a competitive compensation package along with a variety of employee benefits.
The Front Desk Agent will be the welcoming face of the hotel, greeting guests warmly and ensuring smooth, efficient check-in experiences. They must possess excellent communication skills to answer guest inquiries both in person and over the phone, addressing questions about the hotel services and local area attractions promptly and knowledgeably. The role requires effective cash management skills to handle payments, post guest charges, and close accounts accurately while following established cash handling policies. Guest satisfaction is paramount, and the Guest Experience Coordinator must maintain a friendly demeanor while creating value through suggestive selling and personalized service.
Beyond front desk operations, the coordinator will also assist with The Café, preparing and serving light café items, operating espresso machines, and maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards. Collaboration with other hotel departments is essential to ensure the best overall guest experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage cash and credit transactions accurately
- Proficiency with reservation software and phone systems
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in front desk or guest service role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to operate reservation and PBX phone systems
- Basic cash handling and transaction processing skills
- Knowledge of food safety and café operations a plus
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment
- Friendly and professional demeanor
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor always, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
- Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
- Greet guests arriving and complete established check-in procedures daily to ensure that guests are fully satisfied
- Facilitate guest departures on a daily basis by following established procedures in order to close guest accounts and determine future room availability
- Regularly calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods and established procedures in order to present the guest with accurate hotel charges upon check-out
- Courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations, both in person and over the phone, by utilizing company’s reservation system
- Accurately and professionally communicate hotel rates and information, utilize suggestive selling techniques, demonstrate advantages and create value for our guests
- Maintain good guest relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions in order to answer questions and concerns with timely and knowledgeable responses in person and on the phone
- Operate the PBX equipment by accepting incoming calls and assisting out-going calls, setting wake-up calls and communicating to guests to ensure timely and efficient service
- Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk and maintains complete responsibility for personal bank as specified by hotel policy
- Accurately and courteously take guest orders, make recommendations and suggestions at The Café
- Prepare, stock, and serve small café items
- Maintain clean bar tables, chairs, stools and counter surface always
- Routinely clean and upkeep espresso machines and brewing equipment
- Adhere to food safety requirements
- Process all cash and charge transactions according to house procedures
- Close checks and run reports at the end of shift
- Stock side station with necessary coffee, tea and beverage items
- Support the market by stocking and keeping it clean, as well as ringing up guests for their purchases
- Aid other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management
