The Front Desk Associate will play a critical role in shaping the first and last impressions of our guests. This full-time role involves professional, friendly, and efficient communication with guests, handling all facets of the front office operations. The successful candidate will expertly manage check-ins and check-outs, assist with reservation pre-registration and room blocking, and accurately post charges using our front office systems. Familiarity with the hotel's rates, discounts, and cancellation protocols is essential to ensuring seamless service delivery. Cash handling skills are necessary as the role includes receiving various payment forms and managing change accurately. Attention to detail and knowledge of booking procedures, including handling same-day reservations and special guest requests, will contribute significantly to operational effectiveness. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions accurately
  • Capacity to perform physical tasks such as sitting for prolonged periods, standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting 10-25 pounds
  • Ability to operate office equipment and computer systems
  • Visual and auditory ability to perform job functions
  • Willingness to receive reasonable accommodations for disabilities if needed

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Proficient in computer systems related to hotel front office operations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures
  • Experience in hospitality or hotel environment is an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate self-initiative

Job Duties

  • Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
  • Assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
  • Promptly, accurately and efficiently know how and where to post all charges
  • Have complete working knowledge of Front Office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
  • Accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
  • Review any reservations with special requests and work to block rooms accordingly
  • Have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
  • Have working knowledge of reservations and procedures, including how to take same day reservations
  • should be able to take reservations in approximately 2 minutes
  • know and follow cancellation procedures and relocation procedures when necessary
