Job Requirements

- previous hotel-related experience preferred
- excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to communicate professionally with guests and staff
- knowledge of local area and events
- understanding of proper payment methods
- proficiency in securing guest information
- ability to learn safety and emergency procedures
- skilled in front office equipment
- knowledge of telephone etiquette
- willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

- ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and overnight
Job Duties
- maintains an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
- possesses a working knowledge of the reservations department
- takes same day reservations and future reservations when necessary
- knows cancellation procedures
- knows room locations, types of rooms available, and room rates
- registers arriving guests and assigns rooms
- coordinates room status updates with housekeeping
- coordinates guest room maintenance work
- uses persuasive selling techniques to promote rooms and other services
- knows daily hotel activities and meetings
- reports unusual occurrences to manager
- manages and resolves guest complaints
- processes guest check-outs and handles monetary transactions
- maintains customers' privacy
- maintains a professional appearance and demeanor
- communicates pertinent information to colleagues and department heads
- responsible for neat and orderly workspace
- performs other duties as assigned
