Job Description

AvantStay is a pioneering hospitality company that specializes in delivering exceptional and unique stays for group travelers. Founded with a visionary approach, AvantStay has developed a tech-enabled millennial hospitality brand that is setting new standards for group experiences within the short-term rental (STR) industry, which is valued at over 100 billion dollars. The company is venture funded and experiencing rapid growth, driven by its innovative use of technology and focus on providing unparalleled service to its guests. With a mission to transform the way people travel and vacation, AvantStay manages a variety of premium properties designed to offer seamless, personalized, and memorable travel experiences for groups. The company's commitment to innovation, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence has positioned it as a leader in the evolving hospitality landscape.

The role currently open at AvantStay is for a part-time Front Desk Agent to be based at their hotel, Ancora, located in San Diego. This position involves working 16-24 hours per week and is critical as the Front Desk Agent serves as the face of AvantStay at the market office location. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy interacting with people, and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service. The Front Desk Agent's primary responsibility is facilitating in-person guest check-ins, ensuring that each guest's arrival is smooth and leaves a positive lasting impression. Beyond guest interactions, this versatile position includes managing administrative and operational tasks such as handling deliveries, organizing supplies, documenting inventory levels of linens and other essentials, and providing occasional support to local teams and vendors to assist with market operations.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented problem solver who enjoys multitasking and can adapt to the fast-paced nature of a startup environment. The Front Desk Agent will work primarily onsite to ensure flawless guest check-in experiences while occasionally assisting with property inspections and support tasks during non-peak periods. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with the wider field team by providing updates on guest arrivals and requests. Proficiency with technology, particularly property management systems and Salesforce for managing check-in cases, is a key part of the job.

As a Front Desk Agent, the individual will play a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by being attentive to detail, maintaining organized office and storage spaces, and contributing to the smooth operation of the market office. The company values a "Guest First" attitude, a proactive mindset, and a dedication to excellence. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, embracing the fast-paced startup culture and taking ownership of their role to help AvantStay reach its next stage of growth. This opportunity offers the chance to work within a dynamic, growing company at the intersection of real estate, hospitality, and technology, providing ample opportunities for learning and career development.

Candidates must be based in the San Diego area and be willing to work some weekends and evenings as needed to support guest arrivals or special operations. The role offers an hourly wage between $25 and $27, commensurate with skills and experience, along with benefits such as paid time off and complimentary stays at AvantStay properties. AvantStay prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer that celebrates diversity and inclusivity in its workforce, making it a welcoming place to craft a successful and fulfilling career.
