The Front Desk Agent role at Origin Westminster is a pivotal position in the guest service lifecycle, serving as the primary point of contact for guests during registration, stay, and checkout processes. This role requires a proactive and personable professional who excels in communication, attention to detail, and adherence to established hospitality standards. Key responsibilities include managing check-in and check-out procedures accurately, operating the PBX (private branch exchange) and telephone systems, handling mail and message services, and maintaining daily accounting tasks with precision. The Front Desk Agent is also entrusted with critical operational duties such as pre-assigning hotel rooms to VIPs, repeated guests, and handling special requests to enhance guest experiences. Customer satisfaction is a top priority, and agents must demonstrate essential hospitality etiquette — including maintaining eye contact, smiling, initiating conversation, and respectfully using guests' surnames. The role demands an individual with the capability to balance shift banks, authorize credit policies, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure seamless guest services. Additionally, the agent must remain knowledgeable about the hotel’s immediate environment, local attractions, emergency procedures, and concierge services to provide comprehensive assistance to guests. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • six months to one-year related experience and/or training
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedure manuals
  • ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • ability to operate Property Management System, capture email, and use the PBX system
  • must always be accountable for balancing the daily shift bank and maintain organization and demonstrate quality service
  • regularly required to stand, walk, and communicate
  • occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
