The role of the Front Desk Agent at Arbor Lodging is a pivotal position within the hotel’s operations. Serving as the initial point of contact for guests, the Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in shaping the first impression and overall experience of guests during their stay. Responsibilities include warmly greeting and welcoming guests upon arrival, efficiently processing guest check-ins and check-outs, distributing room keys, and accurately registering guests while verifying reservations. Additionally, this role involves addressing guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and attending to various guest service needs promptly and professionally. The Front Desk Agent is also tasked with assisting guests in finding nearby dining, shopping, and entertainment options, showcasing hidden local gems to enrich the guest experience. This position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work well within a team to ensure seamless coordination with other hotel departments. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • credit card handling experience preferred
  • hotel front desk experience preferred
  • experience with hotel reservations software preferred
  • outgoing and friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile to ensure complete guest satisfaction
  • positive, upbeat demeanor
  • excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
  • team-oriented
  • ability to stand for 8 hours at a time
  • ability to lift 20 lbs on occasion

Job Duties

  • Greet and check-in guests in a friendly manner
  • assist in taking reservations, pre-registrations, and room blocking
  • assist large groups upon arrival
  • assist guests in finding dining, shopping, and other hidden gems nearby
  • be the first to handle and resolve guest issues
  • process payments according to procedure
  • upsell additional facilities and services
  • perform all check-out tasks
  • ensure all cash, checks, and credit card balances at the end of each shift
  • answer questions and address guest needs and requests
  • communicate internally with other departments when necessary to resolve a guest concern or request
  • additional tasks may be assigned at any given time
