Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to quality and exceptional guest experiences. This company operates a diverse portfolio of hotel brands, including Courtyard by Marriott, which is specifically designed to cater to business travelers and those seeking a seamless and enjoyable stay. Marriott International prides itself on fostering an inclusive and welcoming work environment where associates from various backgrounds and experiences can thrive and contribute to the company’s success. As an equal opportunity employer, Marriott actively promotes diversity, non-discrimination, and equal access to opportunities, ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees. The position being offered is located at the Courtyard by Marriott property at 8615 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas, and is part-time, non-management employment with a pay rate of $16.00 per hour. The role is tip-eligible, offering additional earning potential for dedicated team members willing to work night, evening, or overnight shifts.
The role of Guest Experience Specialist at Courtyard goes beyond the traditional front desk responsibilities. This position is vital in creating unique, memorable experiences for hotel guests throughout their entire stay. The Guest Experience Specialist acts with a "guest first" mindset, taking initiative to assist guests not only during check-in and check-out but throughout all common areas of the hotel. Their duties include addressing guest requests, managing operational needs, completing necessary reports, and providing local insights to enhance the guest experience. The role demands a proactive and hands-on approach, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds. Compliance with company policies, safety standards, and maintaining professional appearance and communication is essential. This role suits individuals who enjoy interacting with people, problem-solving, and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
Additionally, this position requires availability to work night audits and shifts during evenings, overnights, and weekends, including Saturdays and Sundays. Though no prior work or supervisory experience is required, candidates must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Marriott International emphasizes that the best associates bring passion, teamwork, and a desire for continuous improvement, all while contributing to a fun and rewarding team atmosphere. Joining the Courtyard by Marriott team means becoming part of a respected global brand that supports personal and professional growth, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance their career in hospitality.
