The Front Desk Agent plays a critical role as the first point of contact for guests arriving at our hotel. This position requires an individual with high work ethic, self-initiative, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. The role involves greeting guests cordially, efficiently managing the check-in and check-out process, and handling reservations with accuracy and professionalism. You will be responsible for operating front office computer systems or manual systems, posting charges accurately, and managing all transactions related to guest accounts, including cash, checks, and credit card payments.
This role demands a thorough understanding of hotel rates, discounts, reservation procedures, and the ability to handle various guest requests, cancellations, and relocations with efficiency and care. The ability to take same-day reservations swiftly and accurately is essential. The position is full-time and may require flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include prolonged periods of sitting, occasional standing and walking, fine motor skills for typing and use of office equipment, and the ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds. Effective verbal and written communication skills are crucial for success in this role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in front desk or hospitality preferred
- basic computer proficiency

Job Duties
- Greet and communicate cordially with guests, promptly and professionally checking them in and out of the hotel
- assist in pre-registration and blocking of reservations when necessary
- promptly, accurately and efficiently post all charges
- have complete working knowledge of front office computer or manual system, including all daily transactions and those which are not performed often
- accurately manage cash handling, including receiving cash, checks and credit card information from guests for payment of hotel charges and making change correctly
- review any reservations with special requests and block rooms accordingly
- have knowledge of hotel rates, discounts and how to handle each
- have working knowledge of reservations and procedures including how to take same day reservations, know and follow cancellation and relocation procedures when necessary
