The position of Guest Services Representative / Acting Shift Manager at Elliott House Inn provides a unique opportunity for professionals looking to advance their careers in the hospitality industry. This role is structured around a stable and efficient four-day workweek, with a schedule that includes Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and guaranteed days off on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The role demands a proactive and dependable individual who will act as the primary onsite manager during assigned shifts, ensuring seamless operations and outstanding guest service even when functioning independently. A critical aspect of this position is the ability to confidently manage all front desk activities including guest check-ins and departures, handling inquiries, and resolving issues with a balance between guest satisfaction and hotel interests.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the role requires autonomous decision-making skills to address and resolve unforeseen situations calmly and professionally. Due to the unique staffing model where this individual may be the sole staff member on duty, flawless attendance and punctuality are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and impeccable organizational abilities while managing operational tasks such as daily accounting procedures, balancing the shift bank, maintaining key control policies, and ensuring a polished and professional presentation at all times.
The Guest Services Representative / Acting Shift Manager will also be responsible for managing special guest requests such as VIPs and repeat visitors, and providing concierge support by being well-informed about local attractions, services, and events. Familiarity with hotel management systems including Property Management System (PMS) and Private Branch Exchange (PBX) is required to carry out communication and administrative functions efficiently. In addition, the individual is expected to actively participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with other hotel departments like Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet to deliver a coordinated, exceptional guest experience.

Job Duties
- Act as the primary onsite manager during assigned shifts
