The position available is for a Front Desk Agent who plays a pivotal role in shaping the guest's first and lasting impressions. This full-time role involves providing fast and effective customer service, handling guest check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring smooth communication across departments by adhering to established policies and procedures. The Front Desk Agent acts as the ambassador of the hotel, offering guests detailed information about hotel facilities such as the pool, food and beverage services, laundry, and various room types available. The role demands a sharp attention to detail, particularly in reviewing daily reservations, pre-assigning rooms, managing cash operations, and accurately recording wakeup calls and messages.

The role requires a strong balance of technical skills, including familiarity with property management systems and cash register operations, alongside exceptional interpersonal abilities. The agent must handle guest complaints efficiently and courteously, listening carefully and taking prompt action or escalating issues to supervisors when necessary. Responsiveness and professionalism on the phone are crucial, as is maintaining the lobby’s welcoming environment, such as keeping fresh coffee available for guests. The position involves multi-tasking, from processing reservations and posting charges to maintaining safety awareness and reporting hazards.

Job Duties

  • Act as the ambassador of the hotel providing information to guests on all aspects including pool location and F&B hours
  • Review arriving reservations checking for special requests and VIPs, pre-assign rooms and pre-register groups
  • Count cash drawer at start and end of shifts and accurately prepare deposits following procedures
  • Maintain complete understanding of PMS cash register operations
  • Compare housekeepers report with folio log and enter wakeup calls and messages accurately
  • Record future reservations by phone or in person following all standard procedures
  • Handle complaints efficiently and courteously, notifying supervisors when necessary
  • Post phone and guest charges promptly using standard procedures
  • File folios, registration cards, and reservation cards
  • Complete shift checklists and maintain fresh coffee in the lobby
  • Answer telephones efficiently within three rings and with correct phrasing
  • Report any safety hazards or violations
  • Perform other duties as requested
