Job Description
Marriott International, a leading global hospitality company, operates an extensive portfolio of hotels and related lodging facilities across the world. As a brand renowned for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences, Marriott prioritizes a culture of inclusivity and empowerment for its employees. Located in Houston, Texas, the Westin hotel, part of Marriott International, offers guests a unique wellness-focused environment designed to enable guests to be the best version of themselves during their travels. This is accomplished through innovative programs and a dedicated team that embraces the brand’s wellness mission. Marriott International is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering a diverse workplace culture where associates from various backgrounds are welcomed, valued, and celebrated. The company upholds non-discrimination policies on all protected bases, supporting a supportive and inclusive work environment.
The Guest Experience Expert role at the Westin Houston is a full-time, non-management position focused on creating memorable and seamless guest experiences beyond just the transactional aspects of check-in and check-out. The essence of this role lies in its proactive nature where the Guest Experience Expert actively engages guests by providing a broad range of services that enhance their entire stay. This includes addressing guest inquiries and requests, completing operational tasks, and sharing insights about local attractions, thus making every guest interaction a part of the personalized experience the hotel aims to provide.
Employees in this role must maintain professionalism in appearance and communication, rigorously follow company policies related to safety, confidentiality, and quality standards, and ensure protection of company assets. Physical activity is an important component of the job; employees are expected to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and manage light material handling duties independently. Beyond these core responsibilities, the Guest Experience Expert contributes to the overall ambiance and reputation of the hotel by supporting a welcoming and well-organized environment.
Marriott provides a dynamic and engaging workplace where associates are encouraged to grow and thrive while making meaningful contributions to the guest experience. The company’s emphasis on wellness aligns closely with Westin's mission to empower guests in their well-being journeys. The ideal candidates for this role are those who are enthusiastic, optimistic, wellness-oriented, and adventurous, bringing positive energy and commitment to their work and personal practices.
This position requires no prior related work or supervisory experience and does not require any licenses or certifications, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to begin a career in hospitality with a globally recognized leader. Associating with Marriott and Westin means joining a team dedicated to personal and professional development, where associates belong to an amazing global team and gain the opportunity to become the best version of themselves.
