The Front Desk Agent serves as the representative of the hotel to guests from arrival through departure, managing all aspects of guest interactions including reservations, check-ins, and check-outs. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining guest reservation statuses, managing registration processes, and assigning rooms while accommodating special requests whenever possible. They will verify payment methods, follow credit-checking procedures, and ensure guest and room information is accurately communicated to various hotel departments. Coordination with housekeeping and maintenance teams is essential to maintain up-to-date room status reports and to address repair requests promptly.
This role requires a sales-minded approach, presenting guests with options for rooms and hotel services while utilizing suggestive selling techniques to promote upselling opportunities. The Front Desk Agent must be knowledgeable about room types, rates, hotel activities, and services to assist guests effectively and enhance their experience.
Additional duties include maintaining guest room key storage, supervising access to safe deposit boxes, managing reservations including cancellations, and operating front office equipment efficiently. The agent will handle telephone, mail, package, and message protocols with proper etiquette and professionalism. Attention to detail is necessary for recording and filing charges, managing ledger accounts, and adhering to all safety and emergency procedures.
Working hours for this position may require flexibility to accommodate various shifts as business demands may necessitate. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand primary workplace language(s)
- Ability to speak and understand primary guest language(s)
- Previous hotel-related experience desired
- Finger dexterity, grasping, writing capability
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Hearing and visual acuity
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally

Job Duties
