Job Description

Hotel Verdant is a well-established hospitality property located at 500 Main Street, Racine, WI. Renowned for its commitment to providing exemplary guest experiences, Hotel Verdant combines modern amenities with warm, personalized service to create a welcoming home away from home for travelers. As a full-service hotel, it caters to both business and leisure guests, offering comfortable accommodations, convenient access to local attractions, and a staff dedicated to ensuring every stay is pleasant and memorable. The hotel's brand is synonymous with quality and hospitality excellence in the Racine area, making it a preferred choice for visitors who expect attentive service and a professional atmosphere.

The Front Desk Agent at Hotel Verdant plays a pivotal role in maintaining this standard of excellence. This position involves delivering exceptional guest services including registration, check-out, answering phones, managing mail and messages, and ensuring smooth daily operations of the front desk. The agent must be meticulous with accounting tasks and adhere to established hospitality standards — such as engaging guests with a warm smile, eye contact, polite conversation, and the use of their surnames — to build positive rapport and foster guest loyalty. This role demands confidence, professionalism, and a friendly demeanor to successfully welcome guests and manage their needs from arrival to departure.

In addition to direct guest interaction, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for operational duties such as pre-assigning rooms including VIP and repeat guests, handling special requests, maintaining proper key control, and overseeing daily financial procedures including cash, check, and credit card transactions. The role also requires good knowledge of the local area, including attractions, services, and events, enabling the agent to assist guests beyond the immediate hotel environment. Coordination with other hotel departments such as Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet is essential to guarantee comprehensive service delivery and maximize guest satisfaction.

The work environment for this position is dynamic and requires the ability to stand and walk for extensive periods, operate the Property Management System and PBX phone system, and manage shift bank balancing efficiently. Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate accountability and organizational skills. This full-time role is ideal for individuals who have at least six months to one year of related experience and who are motivated by a fast-paced hospitality setting where customer service is paramount.

Joining Hotel Verdant means becoming part of a team that values quality service, attention to detail, and a guest-first mindset. The Front Desk Agent is a frontline ambassador of the hotel brand, ensuring every guest feels valued and cared for. This position provides opportunities for professional development within the hospitality industry while offering a supportive environment that recognizes the contributions of its employees.
