Job Description

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is recognized globally as the world's first and most prestigious luxury hotel brand, pioneering international travel since the 1940s. The company embodies a rich history and a profound passion for delivering impeccable hospitality across the globe. Known for its elegant and culturally immersive environments, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts offers guests a unique blend of refined comfort and authentic experiences. The brand places great emphasis on being genuine ambassadors of global culture and heritage, ensuring that every stay enriches the guest’s perspective on the world. As an employer, InterContinental strives to attract individuals with a thirst for travel, an appreciation for cultural diversity, and a passion for delivering unparalleled service.

The role of Front Desk Agent is fundamental to maintaining the high standards that InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is celebrated for. This position is typically hourly, with a pay rate of $18.00 per hour, and comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k, alongside other benefits accessible to eligible employees. The Front Desk Agent is the first and lasting impression a guest receives upon arrival, setting the tone for a memorable and comfortable visit. Responsibilities extend beyond routine check-in and check-out procedures to encompass engaging warmly with guests, recognizing loyalty members, and offering personalized recommendations to enhance their stay.

In this role, you will skillfully handle guest bookings while identifying up-selling opportunities, ensuring guests are aware of amenities and events that can add value to their experience. Accuracy and efficiency in managing cash and credit transactions are crucial, alongside a commitment to guest safety and adherence to hotel protocols. The role demands vigilance in anticipating guest needs, addressing inquiries or concerns proactively, and maintaining seamless communication between guests and management. You'll be expected to not only facilitate smooth operational processes but also contribute to a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home, regardless of location.

A successful Front Desk Agent thrives on excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a hospitable demeanor. Fluency in the local language is essential, while additional language skills are beneficial but not mandatory. Technological competency is critical, as the role involves utilizing various computer systems and handling data accurately. Flexibility is also key, with the role requiring availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical readiness is important, as some duties include lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Joining InterContinental Hotels & Resorts means embarking on a rewarding career journey with the world’s most international luxury hotel brand. This role offers an opportunity to develop within a company that values diversity, cultural exchange, and the creation of extraordinary guest experiences. If you are passionate about hospitality and eager to represent a prestigious global brand committed to excellence, this position could be the perfect fit for you.
