Job Description
Ascent Hospitality is a distinguished hospitality company with a broad portfolio of hotels and a solid pipeline of new properties and acquisitions. Unlike many companies that focus primarily on growth and numbers, Ascent Hospitality places people at the core of its operations. The company prides itself on fostering a culture that delivers memorable experiences for both its team members and guests, demonstrating a true dedication to the human side of hospitality. With a commitment to excellence, Ascent Hospitality continually seeks individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and share a unified purpose with their colleagues. Known for its inclusive culture, Ascent Hospitality values accomplished leaders who have a passion for serving others, communicate effectively, and rise to challenges with a proactive mindset. These attributes align with the company's mission to set trends and lead innovation in the hospitality industry. If you embody these values, Ascent Hospitality invites you to become part of its dynamic team.
Currently, Ascent Hospitality is looking for a uniquely qualified Front Desk Agent to join its ranks. This role is vital as the first point of contact for guests, ensuring they receive outstanding service and a warm welcome. The Front Desk Agent will be responsible for numerous tasks associated with guest services, including completing all activities listed in the Front Desk checklist and executing marketing duties such as upselling to generate additional revenue. Providing top-tier service and satisfaction to hotel and restaurant guests and visitors is a primary focus, and the role demands a conscientious approach to security and liability to protect both the hotel's assets and the company’s reputation.
The position offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance, in addition to various supplemental options, making it an attractive employment opportunity. Employees are also offered a 401k plan with employer match, paid time off, uniforms for most positions, and access to a team member hotel discount program, underscoring the company's commitment to its workforce. The Front Desk Agent is expected to maintain professionalism at all times, greet guests warmly, and provide detailed information regarding hotel amenities, room availability, and rates. They will employ operational and sales techniques to maximize occupancy and revenue while ensuring smooth registration and customer verification processes.
Effective communication with other hotel departments is crucial to this role, as is staying informed about hotel operations and guest needs. The agent manages group reservations and facilitates personalized guest experiences for events such as weddings. A strong understanding of travel planning websites enhances guest service quality and boosts the hotel's online presence. Front desk agents must be adept at handling cash transactions, credit card authorizations, and following strict accounting procedures.
The role requires adaptability to flexible schedules and the ability to respond promptly and professionally to guest complaints and emergency situations. The ideal candidate will have previous hotel front desk experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, computer literacy, and a strong customer service orientation. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of objects, reflecting the active nature of the role. High school education or equivalent is required, with some college education preferred. Six months of related hotel or customer service experience is desirable, along with the ability to work well in team environments. Ascent Hospitality is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. Joining Ascent Hospitality as a Front Desk Agent means becoming part of a company that values service, teamwork, and personal growth, with a rewarding career path in the vibrant world of hospitality.
