Job Description
The Front Desk Agent position is offered by a prestigious hospitality establishment dedicated to providing exemplary guest services in a professional and courteous manner. This role is pivotal in creating a welcoming environment for guests from the moment they arrive until their departure. Our establishment, operating in the vibrant hotel industry, prides itself on delivering high standards of customer service and operational excellence, making every guest experience memorable and comfortable. We highly value employees who are attentive, proactive, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities efficiently in a dynamic setting.
The Front Desk Agent is tasked with managing guest registration, check-in and check-out processes, and handling PBX phone operations along with mail and message services with utmost precision. This role demands acute attention to detail during all daily accounting procedures to ensure accuracy and accountability. The successful candidate must strictly adhere to essential hospitality standards which include making eye contact, smiling, initiating conversation, engaging politely with guests, and using guests' surnames to create a personalized service atmosphere. Experience with Opera Cloud, a modern property management system, is highly preferred, enhancing operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
This role is designed for individuals who excel in providing a high level of customer service consistently. Responsibilities include pre-assigning hotel rooms for VIPs, repeat guests, and accommodating special requests with diligence and professionalism. The candidate will confidently and warmly handle check-ins and check-outs, promptly answer all phone calls with complete and accurate information, and complete all shift-related checklists thoroughly by the end of their shift. They will also be entrusted with following established key control policies, verifying credit limits according to hotel credit policies, and managing lost and found items with appropriate documentation.
A Front Desk Agent must be knowledgeable about the local area, including services, attractions, and events, and provide assistance with concierge services to enhance the guest experience. Familiarity with fire and emergency procedures is essential for ensuring the safety of guests and staff. Financial responsibilities include opening, securing, and balancing the daily shift bank, involving cash, check, and credit card transactions. Monitoring room availability and reviewing the hotel’s selling status through yield management systems are also crucial to optimizing occupancy and revenue.
The position requires effective communication and coordination with other departments to facilitate smooth hotel operations and maximize guest satisfaction. The agent must be prepared to perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors or management, demonstrating flexibility and dedication. The role necessitates regular standing, walking, communicating with guests and staff, and occasional lifting or moving of items weighing up to 25 pounds, ensuring operational tasks are accomplished efficiently and safely.
Overall, this Front Desk Agent role offers a rewarding opportunity to be at the forefront of hospitality service, representing the hotel and playing a key role in delivering an outstanding guest experience by combining professionalism, attentiveness, and hospitality know-how.
