Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton Boston, located at 10 Avery St., is part of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton brand under Marriott International, renowned worldwide for its unmatched luxury hospitality and exceptional guest experiences. This iconic hotel operates as a luxury hospitality establishment committed to delivering the highest standards of service and comfort to each guest, setting the global benchmark for rare and special hospitality. With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton brand is synonymous with quality, elegance, and impeccable attention to detail. At the heart of The Ritz-Carlton’s success is its unique culture guided by the Gold Standards, which fosters creativity, thoughtfulness, and compassion among its associates.
Joining The Ritz-Carlton Boston means becoming part of an esteemed team of hospitality professionals dedicated to creating lifelong memories for guests through gracious and thoughtful service. The full-time, non-management role being offered is centered around guest services within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category. This position is integral to the hotel’s day-to-day operations and directly impacts the guest experience from check-in to check-out. Compensation for this role is $31.98 per hour.
As a member of the guest services team, your primary responsibility will be to embody and uphold the Gold Standards of The Ritz-Carlton brand, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the highest level of professionalism and care. Duties include processing guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys; handling various payment methods such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit; and managing check-outs with accuracy in resolving any late or disputed charges. Additionally, you will handle guest communications including answering calls, recording messages, and addressing guest questions or concerns.
Coordination with housekeeping is essential to monitor room readiness for arrivals, while providing guests and visitors with details about parking procedures and dispatching bell or valet staff as necessary. Another key aspect of the role involves supplying guests with directions and information about the property and local attractions to enhance their stay experience.
Operational responsibilities also include generating daily reports on arrivals and departures, identifying any special requests, and ensuring report accuracy. Cash management duties such as counting the bank at shift start and end, balancing receipts, and completing cashier and closing reports in compliance with accounting policies are critical to maintaining financial integrity.
Working at The Ritz-Carlton demands adherence to company policies regarding safety, security, confidentiality, and personal appearance. You will be expected to protect company assets and report unsafe conditions while welcoming guests warmly and anticipating their service needs. The role requires excellent communication skills using clear, professional language, appropriate telephone etiquette, and the ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to move objects up to 10 pounds unassisted. Flexibility in work shifts is preferred, supporting smooth hotel operations. This position offers the opportunity to grow within an internationally respected hospitality brand that values diversity and equal opportunity, fostering a workplace where all associates are celebrated for their unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences.
In summary, this role at The Ritz-Carlton Boston presents a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about luxury hospitality, offering competitive pay, stable full-time employment, and the chance to contribute to creating unforgettable guest experiences. Working here means becoming part of a global team dedicated to excellence and becoming the best version of yourself professionally and personally.
