The opportunity at Motel 6 South Bend - Mishawaka is to join the team as a Front Desk Agent. This role is vital to the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel, serving as the primary point of contact for guests. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for greeting and registering guests, assigning rooms, and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience. The position requires handling cash transactions accurately, managing reservations, and collaborating closely with other hotel departments to maintain a high standard of customer service. This role also involves addressing guest inquiries about hotel features and local attractions, providing directions, and responding to special requests or issues recorded in the front desk log. The Front Desk Agent must maintain a neat and professional appearance while wearing the required uniform and uphold Motel 6’s hospitality standards at all times.

In addition to guest interaction, the Front Desk Agent performs crucial administrative tasks such as completing shift paperwork and reports, balancing the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, posting charges to guest accounts, and confirming reservations. Job Duties

  • Count cash and maintain accuracy of issued cash drawer at the beginning and end of each scheduled shift
  • Check front desk log daily for problems and special requests
  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • Transmit and receive telephone messages as necessary
  • Work closely with the reservations department to ensure arrival dates on reservations are correct
  • Communicate information to the following shift to ensure a smooth transition
  • Collaborate with all hotel departments to ensure high-quality customer service
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
  • Complete all required shift paperwork and reports as assigned by management
  • Perform end of shift cash closing procedures
  • Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts
  • Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
  • Make and confirm reservations
  • Post charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone to ledger
  • Complete daily-required shift checklists
  • Wear required uniform and maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
