Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to handle problem situations proactively
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Comply with hotel’s attendance and grooming standards
  • Ability to follow safety procedures
  • Must be able to work scheduled hours as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College coursework in related field helpful
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Computer experience required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize
  • Must maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Must understand and apply complex information
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be willing to cross-train in other hotel areas
  • Must be able to work flexible hours as scheduled

Job Duties

  • Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies
  • Be aware of all rates, packages and special promotions
  • Be familiar with all in-house groups
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees
  • Operate all relevant aspects of the front desk computer system
  • Complete shift checklist duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards
  • Maintain and market promotions and guest programs
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Assist guests with safe deposit boxes
  • Maintain awareness of emergency procedures and assist as needed
