Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays and the ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent customer service skills and communication are required
  • Previous hotel, receptionist, customer service, front desk or administrative experience preferred
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and continuously perform essential job functions
  • Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel
  • Check guests in and out of rooms
  • Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests
  • Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs
  • Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts
  • Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management
  • Promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner
  • Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank
  • Other duties as assigned
