The position we are currently offering is for a Guest Service Representative, a vital role in the hotel’s front-of-house team. This role is centered around greeting and registering guests warmly, assisting them throughout their stay, and efficiently handling check-out procedures. The Guest Service Representative acts as the first impression for guests and is responsible for providing courteous and attentive service from the moment guests arrive until their departure. This position requires excellent communication skills, a positive demeanor, and the ability to multitask effectively. Key responsibilities include managing reservations, operating the hotel’s phone and computer systems, handling guest inquiries and complaints professionally, and ensuring safety and security protocols are followed. Additionally, the Guest Service Representative collaborates with other departments to update room statuses and promote hotel marketing programs, aiming to maximize room occupancy and increase revenue.

Job Duties

  • greet and register guests
  • make and modify reservations
  • perform hotel operator and concierge duties
  • handle and resolve guest complaints professionally and courteously
  • carry out front desk responsibilities including guest transactions, balancing reports, cash control, deposits, processing reservations and credit cards
  • operate phone system and basic office equipment
  • communicate effectively using shift logbook and reports
  • ensure room status is up-to-date and collaborate with other departments on room repairs
  • promote hotel marketing programs and sell rooms using persuasive techniques
  • maintain key control and manage room keys and master keys
  • process lost and found items according to policy
  • assist in training new staff
  • participate in and support a positive and enjoyable work environment
  • perform other duties as assigned
