Job Description

The Bell Tower Hotel is a well-established hospitality destination located in a prime area, known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. Catering to travelers and tourists, this hotel combines comfort, convenience, and excellent service to ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued throughout their stay. Currently, The Bell Tower Hotel is seeking a dedicated full-time Front Desk Clerk to join their dynamic team. This role is critical as it represents the first and last point of contact for guests, requiring a professional yet personable approach. The positions come with two shifts available - 7am to 3pm and 3pm to 11pm, which will include working on weekends and holidays. As a Front Desk Clerk, you will play a key role in the daily operations of the hotel, managing guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, handling reservations, and providing outstanding customer service.

This role demands strong organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and excellent communication capabilities. The Front Desk Clerk must be proficient in using hotel management software, phones, fax machines, and various computer programs. Handling stressful situations with a calm demeanor, patience, tact, and diplomacy is essential to maintain guest satisfaction and resolve conflicts effectively. Physical stamina is a must as this job requires standing and moving around continuously. The hotel values a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance, reflecting its professional image.

Applicants are expected to have at least a high school diploma, with prior experience in hotel front desk operations highly preferred. Additional language skills are considered an advantage to better serve a diverse clientele. Familiarity with Ann Arbor and the surrounding area is also beneficial. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Checking guests in and out
  • Basic mathematical skills and use of calculator to make calculations without error
  • Ability to stand and move around continuously
  • Making reservations, data entry and attention to detail
  • Ability to use phone, computer copy/fax and computer systems and programs
  • Ability to remain calm in high volume, high stress situations and respond with patience, tact, diplomacy and kindness to defuse anger and resolve conflicts

  • Exceptional customer service with friendly, sincere and positive attitude and a smile
