The Fresh Manager role at Fresco y Mas is a critical leadership position focused on overseeing the Fresh department, which includes Produce and Floral, Meat and Seafood, Deli, and Bakery sections. Job Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the store
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement
  • High standard of integrity and reliability
  • Strong customer service skills, effectively addressing customer issues and controlling business impact

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, preferably in business or a related field
  • 3 to 6 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • 1 to 5 years of minimum supervisory experience required
  • Proficient with computer applications used in store operations
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
  • Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High standard of integrity and reliability
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to coach, hold associates accountable, and recommend separations as necessary

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage Fresh department operations and associates to execute company best practices
  • Create a shopping and working environment that exemplifies the company’s commitment to service, quality, and neighborhood partnerships
  • Promote clean, compliant, and consistent operating conditions to increase customer confidence and loyalty
  • Provide courteous and prompt service
  • Identify and develop talent through proper training
  • Manage in-stock conditions, inventory, shrink, and expenses including labor and supply management
  • Maximize sales and profits through effective display, ordering, scheduling, and work planning
  • Delegate authority, responsibility, and accountability to department managers
  • Train and coach department managers on KPIs, product stocking, customer service, and safety
  • Communicate departments’ progress, financial results, and training enhancements
  • Support hiring, recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding of new associates
  • Ensure adherence to all employment laws, company policies, and safety training
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, USDA, COOL, and DOA regulations
  • Execute product recalls and withdrawals promptly
  • Cultivate a culture of safety and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment
