The role of Freight Runner-Freezer at Nicholas and Company offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join their Warehouse team. This position is full-time, with a schedule from Monday to Friday starting at 6:00 AM until the work is finished, with overtime as needed and Saturday shifts based on departmental requirements. The pay rate is set at $18.50 per hour. Working in varying temperature zones, including dry storage, cooler, and freezer environments as cold as -10 degrees, the Freight Runner-Freezer will be responsible for essential warehouse operations that ensure smooth and efficient freight handling and organization.
The Freight Runner-Freezer is tasked with maintaining the pallet area, ensuring dock doors are closed when not in use, and keeping the assigned dock area clean and organized. The role includes the responsibility of freight running – moving received products to their designated areas within the warehouse accurately and promptly. Performance expectations are aligned with predetermined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring that all activities contribute to overall company efficiency and safety protocols. The role also requires wrapping pallets after separation by product number and unloading operations with minimal supervision, highlighting the need for reliability and proficiency. Effective communication with supervisors concerning product temperatures, code dates, damages, and other important factors is crucial to maintaining quality control and safety standards. Additionally, the Freight Runner-Freezer is charged with restacking products according to set expectations to manage issues like damaged or leaning products, contributing to organized and safe inventory management.
This role is ideal for someone with prior experience operating equipment such as electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and slip sheet or clamp equipment and who possesses basic math and computer skills. Candidates should be able to make timely decisions using sound judgment, learn quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and customer service skills, coupled with self-motivation, make this an engaging position for those seeking to grow within a respected and stable company. Nicholas and Company not only offers a competitive salary and comprehensive health and retirement benefits but also supports their employees through tuition reimbursement and wellness initiatives, fostering both personal and professional development in a supportive workplace.
