The role of Freelance Local Producer at Sofar is an entrepreneurial, commission-based position designed for self-driven individuals who are passionate about live event production and community building. Candidates must be based in the designated city and be comfortable working in a hybrid capacity. As a Freelance Local Producer, you will be responsible for curating, promoting, and executing live events that reflect the unique cultural fabric of your city. You will join a worldwide network of creatives and tastemakers, collaborating and learning together to shape your city’s cultural landscape.

This role requires strong business acumen, cultural fluency, and extensive local connections with artists, venues, brands, and community partners. You will lead the vision and strategy for your city’s events, including planning the number of shows, venue selection, artist curation, marketing tactics, staffing, financial management, and partnership development. Your mission will be to create magical, hospitality-driven live experiences that support both artists and audiences while promoting Sofar’s brand locally.

You will be expected to generate revenue by selling tickets, sponsorship deals, and private events, and by building relationships with local businesses and organizations to broaden reach and community impact. While the schedule is self-directed, most activity will occur during evenings and weekends, aligning with live event timings. Sofar supports its producers with training, resources, and a global community, but autonomy and initiative are key to thriving in this role.

Compensation is commission-based, with earnings varying between $100 to $500+ per event depending on ticket prices, show volume, and event performance. This flexible role offers meaningful ownership and the opportunity to significantly influence Sofar’s presence and success in your city. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in live event curation, promotions, and production, with a proven track record in securing sponsorships and marketing activations.
