Job Requirements
- Must be a local candidate with in-depth knowledge of the area
- Proven experience in live event production and promotion
- Excellent relationship-building skills with a variety of community and business partners
- Strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
- Availability to work primarily during evenings and weekends
- Ability to manage event budgets and financial outcomes
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in live event curation, production, and promotions
- Experience in selling event sponsorships or marketing activations, preferably within live events or experiential marketing
- Deep knowledge of the local cultural scene and neighborhood dynamics
- Proven ability to build strategic alliances with community organizations, media partners, and local businesses
- Strong promotional skills and understanding of marketing tactics to drive ticket sales
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously while staying connected with global organizational goals
- Passion for creating inclusive, engaging live music experiences
Job Duties
- Develop and execute audience development strategies that expand reach beyond existing customer base
- Strengthen Sofar’s brand in the local community by promoting and selling tickets using self-directed local marketing tactics
- Create and implement a vision for the city’s live event strategy including number of monthly shows, neighborhoods, and show themes
- Lead curation and booking of live events with a diverse and high-quality set of artists and venues while growing local networks
- Manage staffing and ensure high-quality, hospitality-rooted experiences at each show
- Oversee financial performance of events to ensure profitability and sustainability
- Identify and build relationships with local organizations to broaden reach and co-promote events
- Collaborate with other local leaders to create diverse experiences that enhance community engagement and brand visibility
