Job Description
Visit.org is an innovative tech startup focused on connecting companies with meaningful social impact experiences. This dynamic platform offers a proprietary library of thousands of team-based volunteer and engagement opportunities across more than 90 countries. Visit.org partners with local nonprofits to deliver curated corporate social responsibility (CSR) and employee engagement events that align with companies' missions and values. Recognized and trusted by major clients such as Colgate, Paramount, Visa, Ancestry, and Tommy Bahama, Visit.org has carved out a unique niche by embedding purpose and social good into corporate event culture. As a start-up, the organization thrives on entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and passion for positive global change, offering the chance to be part of a fast-paced and impactful work environment.
The Freelance Event Specialist position, based in Austin, TX, is a critical role within Visit.org's event management operations. This individual will be responsible for managing the logistics and execution of in-person events that promote social impact and team-building. Acting as the on-site leader and representative for Visit.org, this specialist will oversee everything from setup and coordination with partners and vendors to tear down and post-event follow-up. The role requires a highly organized, resourceful, and solution-minded professional who can handle the complexities of both large-scale corporate gatherings and smaller, intimate executive events. Exceptional customer service skills, the ability to quickly problem-solve under pressure, and a passion for social impact are essential traits for success in this role.
The Freelance Event Specialist will be expected to participate in virtual planning meetings, collaborate closely with corporate and nonprofit partners, and coordinate with the Visit.org events team to ensure seamless event execution. This is a hands-on role that demands flexibility, excellent communication, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of quality. Candidates must be based in Austin, Texas and ready to travel locally as needed for events. This contract position offers a competitive hourly rate and provides the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of social good and corporate engagement. Visit.org values building long-term relationships with freelancers and encourages candidates who thrive in entrepreneurial, mission-driven settings to apply. This role not only advances a meaningful cause but also enhances your professional resume by offering real-world experience in event management within the cause-driven tech industry.
