Visit.org is currently seeking a Freelance In-Person Event Host to join their Events team on a contract basis in Portage, MI. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who have a passion for public speaking and thrive in front of an audience. The Event Host plays a critical role in facilitating engaging, interactive experiences at corporate partner locations, making social impact initiatives accessible and enjoyable for all participants. By serving as the face of the event, the host helps build team spirit, motivates involvement, and supports nonprofit partners during these visits.

This role is best suited to candidates with background experience in corporate events who bring an entrepreneurial spirit, high energy, and dedication to Visit.org’s mission to positively impact local communities globally. The position requires availability for per-event contract work and demands a vibrant personality capable of energizing groups, managing dynamics skillfully, and responding quickly to any challenges that arise during events. Although not mandatory, previous experience in acting, improv, comedy, or similar interactive roles is highly valued.

  • Fluent in English
  • Based in Portage, MI
  • Availability to work on a contract per event basis
  • Comfortable interacting with groups of people as well as one on one as they keep the events flowing and the participants engaged
  • Easy conversationalists with lots of energy, charismatic personality, and a sense of fun
  • Experience with group facilitation and managing group dynamics
  • High energy and a positive attitude
  • Quick thinker sometimes during events, things go wrong
  • you can problem-solve on the fly
  • Extremely comfortable with and enjoys public speaking
  • Excellent customer service and presentation skills

Job Duties

  • Be the host for a fun, engaging, team building, social impact activities, experiences and events that support a great cause
  • Welcome, engage, and inspire participants while supporting nonprofits in facilitating the in-person event
