By providing HR, CSR, and Meetings & Events professionals with a scalable and culturally relevant library of purpose-driven experiences, Visit.org empowers organizations to engage their employees and clients in meaningful ways while supporting good causes. The role of Freelance Event Specialist in Springfield, MA represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment where entrepreneurial spirit, passion for social impact, and exceptional organizational skills are highly valued. This contract-based position requires an individual who can manage the logistics of in-person events and build strong relationships with corporate partners, nonprofit organizations, and event participants. The Freelance Event Specialist will be the pivotal on-site coordinator responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of engaging, impactful team-building activities that combine fun and meaningful social contributions.

As the on-the-ground leader, the Event Specialist will participate in virtual planning meetings with all stakeholders before each event to coordinate responsibilities, set precise expectations, and prepare the logistics. On event days, the candidate will oversee the setup, execution, customer check-in, and breakdown processes. This includes managing supplies, aligning with onsite teams such as hosts, nonprofit representatives, and venue staff, while maintaining a high standard of customer experience through proactive problem-solving and excellent communication. The role demands flexibility in scheduling as events may occur during evenings and weekends, and a willingness to travel within the local Springfield area is necessary.

Candidates must bring demonstrated experience managing both large-scale and more intimate executive-level events, showing a track record of elevating event content and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires someone who thrives under pressure, easily adapts to fast-changing circumstances, and exhibits resourcefulness and grace when solving problems. The chosen specialist will also enjoy the entrepreneurial aspect of building something impactful from the ground up within a startup culture, making a tangible difference while gaining invaluable experience in event management and social impact sectors.

Physical endurance and capability are essential as the Event Specialist will be required to lift materials, stand for long periods, and handle the logistical tasks involved in onsite coordination. With a competitive hourly rate and the chance to contribute to meaningful work alongside passionate, socially minded individuals, this position offers a rewarding balance of professional growth, community engagement, and flexibility. Additionally, there is potential for recurring freelance opportunities with Visit.org depending on performance.
