Job Description
Blend is a dynamic membership community that brings together global leaders from enterprise organizations around the world. Focused on harnessing cognitive diversity and promoting collaborative thinking, Blend supports its members to make informed business decisions and advance their careers toward sustainable growth and success. By fostering connections among leaders across diverse business functions, industries, and organizational silos, Blend envisions transforming how large organizations approach diversity. The company empowers organizations to build workplaces that are happier, more innovative, and ultimately more successful. With an emphasis on inclusion and equal opportunity, Blend actively seeks to create an environment where varied perspectives and cognitive styles thrive, making it a forward-thinking and supportive professional community.
The role of Freelance Event Coordinator at Blend is crucial in delivering seamless and high-quality events that represent the brand and support its mission. The coordinator acts as the primary on-site contact for a variety of events including dinners, roundtables, and conferences. This position requires overseeing the complete event setup and breakdown process in collaboration with venue staff, ensuring that every logistical detail—from branding and signage to name badges and printed materials—is properly handled and displayed. The Event Coordinator warmly welcomes and registers senior-level delegates, speakers, and clients, effectively representing Blend's professional standards in real-time situations.
A critical element of this role is maintaining clear and consistent communication with the internal Blend team throughout each event. The coordinator must promptly and professionally troubleshoot any issues that arise, ensuring smooth execution and an excellent experience for all attendees. Following events, the coordinator is responsible for providing comprehensive recaps, including detailed notes and photos, to support internal evaluation and ongoing improvement.
This freelance role demands a high level of organizational skill, professionalism, and adaptability, especially considering the evening scheduling of events typically held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. Candidates should bring prior experience in event coordination, hospitality, or other client-facing roles, combined with a confident and professional demeanor required when engaging with senior executives. Strong communication abilities and the capacity to quickly solve problems are essential to success in this fast-paced environment.
Working with Blend offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an innovative venture with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion. Individuals passionate about learning, personal development, and making an impact in the events and business community will find this freelance position both challenging and rewarding. Blend's culture promotes growth and values the diverse contributions of its team members, making it a particularly attractive workplace for motivated professionals seeking to expand their skills and professional network.
