The role of Commercial Concrete Foreman at BBC Foundation & Flatwork is a full-time, hands-on leadership position that offers competitive pay ranging from $30 to $35 or more per hour, based on experience, with sign-on bonuses and additional performance-based bonuses. This position is crucial for managing field crews on commercial foundation and flatwork projects across the local and regional market. The foreman is responsible for leading and directing crews daily, reading and interpreting blueprints and site plans, setting and verifying grades, and ensuring all field operations run smoothly, safely, and on schedule. This role demands strong technical skills, including an ability to read and interpret construction documents and a solid understanding of commercial concrete processes.

In addition to daily crew management, the Commercial Concrete Foreman will coordinate crew assignments, material and equipment needs, and jobsite priorities. They play a pivotal role in maintaining quality standards for commercial pours, foundations, pads, and flatwork while monitoring crew performance and reinforcing safe work practices. Communication with project leadership is an important aspect of this position, ensuring progress reports, field challenges, and resource needs are clearly conveyed. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Michigan chauffeur’s license required or ability to obtain quickly

  • CDL preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Proven foreman or field leadership experience in commercial concrete
  • strong experience with foundation and/or flatwork projects
  • ability to lead crews in a fast-paced construction environment
  • ability to read blueprints, site plans, and technical specifications
  • strong understanding of grades, layout, and commercial concrete jobsite execution
  • valid driver’s license required
  • Michigan chauffeur’s license required or ability to obtain quickly
  • ability to travel to local/regional jobsites
  • 5+ years of commercial concrete experience preferred
  • experience leading crews of approximately 6–12 workers
  • CDL preferred
  • equipment operating experience is helpful, but not required
  • experience with prevailing wage projects is helpful
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
