The position involves various responsibilities including taking orders accurately using the POS system, delivering food and beverages promptly, handling payments efficiently, and maintaining table appearance and cleanliness. A key part of the job is staying knowledgeable about the menu items and current promotions to assist guests confidently. In addition to serving guests inside the restaurant, the employee will participate in curbside pickup services, enhancing the overall guest convenience.

Employees in this role are expected to be physically fit as they will spend the entire shift standing or walking, frequently bending and stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential to handle guest interactions and recordkeeping accurately. The position also requires successful completion of the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company standards.

Job Requirements

  • can physically stand/walk 100% of shift

  • able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc.
  • complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes

Job Duties

  • follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
  • accurately enter orders into POS system
  • retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • pack and verify all ToGo orders with guest
  • greet guests at the curbside pickup area
