Job Description
The hiring establishment is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company that prioritizes the adherence to stringent safety protocols and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. This company operates within a high-standard regulatory environment, producing formulations essential for healthcare and medical use. With a strong emphasis on quality, compliance, and continuous training, the company fosters a structured work environment that supports professional development and operational excellence in pharmaceutical formulation. It is a workplace that values teamwork, safety, and precise documentation practices to ensure the production of high-quality pharmaceutical products that meet industry standards.
The role being offered is centered around the position of Formulation Technician, which has multiple tiers indicating different levels of expertise and responsibility within the formulation process. This range includes Tier 1 (Entry-Level), Tier 2 (Intermediate), and Tier 3 (Advanced). The position is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in pharmaceutical manufacturing and formulation technologies to grow and advance their careers in a controlled, compliant setting.
As a Formulation Technician, the incumbent will be responsible for performing a variety of technical tasks associated with the preparation and processing of pharmaceutical formulations. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) alongside Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations. Entry-level technicians undergo foundational training and develop core skills in cleanroom behavior and aseptic techniques, learn to navigate specialized software systems pertinent to formulation tasks, and operate essential equipment such as balances, formulation tanks, and pH meters.
Intermediate and advanced tiers build upon these foundational skills by introducing specific training such as Budesonide Tier I and II training programs, expertise in handling large and portable tanks, and mastery of advanced equipment and procedures including containment boxes, data loggers, and electronic controlled substance waste logbooks. Advanced technicians also engage in specialized processes like Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) technology and Controlled Environmental Validation (CEV) sampling, requiring a greater depth of knowledge and precision.
The role demands meticulous attention to detail, proficiency in following batch records and SOPs, effective communication within cross-functional teams, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure. Physical requirements include activities such as bending, lifting (up to 20 lbs), standing, and walking throughout the manufacturing facility, highlighting the dynamic and active nature of the job.
This position is ideally suited for individuals with a background in chemistry, biology, or pharmaceutical sciences, as well as those who are willing to learn and grow within a highly regulated industry. The company encourages a culture of integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement, recognizing the importance of each technician's contribution to producing safe and effective pharmaceutical products. This Formulation Technician role offers an excellent pathway for career advancement within the pharmaceutical manufacturing arena, providing comprehensive training, exposure to cutting-edge formulation technologies, and opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative setting.
