Job Description

Weyerhaeuser Distribution is recognized as a leader in the distribution of building products catering to residential, light commercial, and home improvement applications around the globe. Operating with a legacy that spans over a century, Weyerhaeuser has developed an impressive reputation in the industry, delivering exceptional products coupled with unparalleled customer support. Their commitment to quality is evident in the extensive range of wood products and solutions they provide, which are trusted by builders, dealers, specifiers, and homeowners alike. The company operates with a focused dedication to sustainable forestry management and manufacturing practices that prioritize making the world a better place. This emphasis on sustainability ensures that their operations not only meet the market demand but also contribute positively to the environment and communities they serve.

Weyerhaeuser places significant importance on safety, excellence, and fostering a hardworking culture. Their operation spans multiple business lines and locations across North America, providing a variety of career opportunities that attract smart, talented individuals passionate about making a meaningful difference in their work and industry.

The role open at the Stockton Distribution Center is that of a Forklift and Building Materials Operator. This position is an hourly role starting at $21.20 plus shift differential, with working hours from 4:30 pm to 1:00 am. The role may also entail overtime commitments. This position is not an inside warehouse job but involves manual labor for 55 to 65 percent of the time, demonstrating the physical and active nature of the job.

As a Forklift and Building Materials Operator, the candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining propane or gas forklifts to effectively move building products from stock lines to staging or cut stations. The operator will also be tasked with safely loading and unloading products from various trailers and railcars. Beyond technical skills, the operator must exemplify a strong commitment to personal and team safety by wearing required personal protective equipment, intervening courageously in unsafe practices, and maintaining a safe working environment.

The job also requires the operator to have basic proficiency in math skills including adding, subtracting, and multiplying to accurately count units, record totals, and document shipping and receiving activities. An understanding of building material products and warehouse operations will be cultivated with ongoing learning and development. Efficiency, quality, and continuous process improvement are central to the responsibilities, demanding committed individuals who take pride in their work and are motivated to contribute to the company’s high standards.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who are physically capable, given the demands of lifting and moving heavy materials, working outdoors regularly, and performing manual labor. While no previous forklift experience is required due to provided training, candidates must bring a positive, willing-to-learn attitude and be ready to work cohesively within a team environment that values detail and accuracy. Overall, working at Weyerhaeuser offers not just a job but a career within a leading company that values diversity, inclusion, and the development of its workforce. Candidates who join will be part of an inclusive culture that upholds these values while providing meaningful work and competitive compensation.
