Job Description
Tenzo Tea, Inc is a dynamic company dedicated to revolutionizing the way people consume caffeine by offering clean, sustainable energy through matcha green tea. Founded in 2016, Tenzo has rapidly become one of the fastest-growing matcha brands in the United States. The company is deeply committed to wellness, sustainability, and fostering continuous growth, positioning itself as a leader in the specialty beverage sector. Tenzo’s premium matcha products provide a healthier alternative to coffee, appealing to those seeking balanced and sustained energy throughout their day. The company thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment where creativity, execution, and adaptability are highly valued. Tenzo’s mission extends beyond simply selling tea; it aims to inspire better energy and better days for its customers by building strong relationships within the hospitality and specialty coffee industries.
The role of Foodservice Sales Manager at Tenzo is a pivotal position focused on expanding the company’s presence across cafés, specialty coffee shops, hospitality groups, and foodservice accounts. This is a remote, high-ownership role reporting directly to the Director of Sales, requiring the candidate to be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative and operate independently in a field-based capacity. The Foodservice Sales Manager will act as Tenzo’s growth engine within their assigned territory, which includes Seattle and Portland, and involves travel. Key responsibilities encompass new account acquisition, managing distributor relationships, and building long-term recurring volume. The successful candidate will develop and execute outreach strategies, drive product trials, and convert sampling opportunities into loyal customers, all of which demand strong communication and relationship-building skills.
In addition to account acquisition, the manager will be responsible for distributor management, working closely with distribution partners to educate reps, support sell-through initiatives, and align pricing, placements, and inventory. The role also emphasizes robust account growth and retention through expanding product placements, supporting menu integration and staff education, and driving upsell opportunities. Maintaining an organized sales pipeline and accurate CRM reporting is essential for tracking performance and providing regular territory updates and sales forecasts. The position is ideal for those with proven experience in foodservice or specialty coffee sales, existing relationships within these industries, and a demonstrated track record of surpassing sales targets. Tenzo offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary, uncapped commission, health benefits, unlimited paid time off, and travel reimbursement. Joining Tenzo means being part of an exciting mission to revolutionize energy consumption with a focus on wellness and sustainability, offering a meaningful career in a fast-growing startup environment.
