The role of a food/drink runner at Egg Harbor Cafe is a fast-paced and fun position within the Hospitality Support Team, which also includes host, barista, and busser roles. The food/drink runner plays a vital part in ensuring each shift runs smoothly and efficiently by supporting front-of-house servers, assisting with drink and food delivery, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the dining area. Shifts start early and finish early, with no night work, catering primarily to customers during breakfast and lunch hours. The position offers a flexible schedule, especially around weekends and holidays, accommodating the flow of the busiest days.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a restaurant or fast-paced environment preferred
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Must be trustworthy and responsible
Must be prompt and reliable

Job Duties

Ensure the efficient flow of food and drink orders from the wait staff to the kitchen
Check receipts and assemble the order for the guest
Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority and alert management to quality issues or long wait times
Ensure that the food and drink presentation is fresh and up to quality standards
Assist in the final plate or drink presentation (e.g. adding condiments and/or toppings)
Check dishes/drinks before delivery for accuracy, presentation, and temperature
Deliver orders quickly to customers to maintain fast service
