The role available is a Truck Driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of products from the Distribution Center to Sheetz store locations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and safe distribution of merchandise that the stores rely on to meet customer needs. The Truck Driver will be entrusted with maintaining the condition and safety of the truck and trailer, adhering strictly to federal regulations, and fostering professional relationships with store personnel and customers. This position requires attention to detail for loading, unloading, and verifying the conditions in which products are transported to maintain product integrity. The role mandates strong record-keeping skills to comply with state and federal transportation laws. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years verifiable tractor trailer driving experience with at least 130,000 miles
  • Must be at least 23 years old
  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • Ability to work a rotating 3 to 4 day workweek
  • Compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations

Job Duties

  • Inspect truck and trailer for defects and safe operating condition before, during, and after trips and submit written report on the condition of the truck-trailer at the end of each trip or tour of duty
  • Drive truck to destination in accordance with the federal regulations
  • Develop and maintain professional relations between the customer, store personnel and the company
  • Load and unload product in a manner that assure safety and minimal risk of damage to product
  • Verify that product is being held and delivered at appropriate temperatures to maintain product integrity, appearance and safety
  • Ensure that all shipment documentation (e.g. bill of lading, etc.) required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that the appropriate paperwork accompanies shipment when delivered
  • Maintain records required for compliance with state and federal regulations including driver’s log, mileage records, and other records required by law
  • Report all highway safety hazards noted in route, accidents involving driver or company equipment, and delays due to break-downs, weather or traffic conditions
