Walmart Supercenter provides a one-stop shopping experience where customers can find groceries, apparel, electronics, and much more. The store emphasizes convenience, value, and customer satisfaction, aiming to serve the diverse needs of the community with competitive prices and quality products. Walmart also takes pride in supporting its associates through a variety of benefits and development programs, making it a favorable employer in the retail sector.
This job opening is for the position of a Food and Consumables Associate, offered on a part-time basis. The role is primarily focused on customer service and merchandising within the food and consumables departments of the store. The position has shifts available during the mid-shift and closing hours, which means the associate will play a crucial role in maintaining the store’s food sections during key operational times. Compensation ranges from $17 to $30 per hour, with the actual wage depending on the local minimum wage requirements and additional premium pay based on specific work conditions such as schedule, facility, season, or the type of work performed. Furthermore, associates are eligible for performance-based incentives, paid time off, and a comprehensive benefits package.
In this role, the associate is tasked with ensuring that incoming merchandise is efficiently moved onto the sales floor while also creating engaging seasonal displays and features that appeal to customer needs and preferences. The position demands attention to detail, creativity in merchandising, and a strong commitment to customer service to help Walmart maintain its reputation for quality and convenience. Associates become an important part of the Walmart team, contributing to a positive shopping experience and supporting community needs by delivering excellent service every day. The role also involves adhering to Walmart’s policies, including its commitment to a drug-free workplace, which helps maintain a safe and productive environment for all employees.
Walmart offers a variety of benefits to ensure associates have a happy mind, body, and wallet. These benefits include comprehensive health coverage such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial benefits such as a 401(k) plan with company match, stock purchase options, life insurance, and paid time off programs inclusive of parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Additional support includes disability insurance, company discounts, military leave pay, and adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement. Walmart also invests in the educational growth of its associates through the Live Better U program, which covers tuition, books, and fees for programs ranging from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees and English Language Learning. This role thus offers great opportunities not only for income but also for personal and professional growth within a supportive corporate culture.
