Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #3254, located at 5260 W 7th St, Reno, NV, is a leading retail establishment committed to providing excellent service and quality products to its customers. As one of the world's largest retail chains, Walmart Supercenter combines a vast selection of groceries, consumables, general merchandise, and pharmacy services under one roof to serve the community efficiently and affordably. Known for its customer-centric approach and dedication to innovation in retailing, Walmart creates a dynamic shopping environment where associates play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction.
The Food and Consumable Associate position at Walmart Supercenter #3254 is a full-time opportunity designed for individuals passionate about customer service and merchandising. The role primarily involves handling merchandise by moving stock from receiving to the sales floor and creating seasonal display features tailored to meet customer demands. This position is essential in maintaining Walmart's high standards for product availability and presentation. Associates working in this role are expected to work mid-shift and closing shifts, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to retail operations.
Employees in this role receive competitive hourly wages ranging from $17 to $30, with the actual rate reflecting or exceeding the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additionally, associates may receive performance-based incentives awarded on an annual or quarterly basis, alongside premiums that can range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, depending on factors such as schedule, facility, seasonality, or specific work tasks completed. Multiple premiums may apply simultaneously if the criteria are met, enhancing overall earnings.
Beyond compensation, Walmart offers a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting the physical, financial, and emotional well-being of its associates. Health benefits include coverage for medical, vision, and dental care. Financial advantages encompass a 401(k) retirement savings plan, stock purchase opportunities, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off encompasses parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave. Additional benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, as well as financial support for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
Associates also have access to PTO and/or PPTO which can be utilized for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other personal reasons, with the amount depending on job classification and length of employment, ensuring compliance with paid sick leave laws where applicable. Walmart’s education benefit program, Live Better U, offers full-time and part-time associates opportunities to advance or complete their education, including high school completion, bachelor’s degrees, English Language Learning, and short-form certificates, with tuition, books, and fees paid entirely by Walmart.
Workplace safety and integrity are paramount at Walmart. The company enforces a strict drug-free workplace policy with zero tolerance for illegal drug and alcohol use during work hours to maintain a safe and productive environment for all employees and customers. Overall, the Food and Consumable Associate role provides a rewarding path for those dedicated to customer service and teamwork, supported by a robust benefits package and a thriving retail culture committed to associate growth and well-being.
