Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #5844, located at 29574 7 Mile Rd, Livonia, MI, is part of the globally recognized Walmart brand, a leader in retail committed to providing customers with a broad assortment of high-quality products at affordable prices. Walmart Supercenters are large-scale stores offering groceries, apparel, electronics, home goods, and more, creating a one-stop shopping destination that caters to the diverse needs of local communities. As a leading employer, Walmart is known for its emphasis on maintaining a positive work environment, competitive wages, and opportunities for growth and education. The Walmart brand stands as a beacon of innovation in retail, leveraging technology, customer insights, and sustainability initiatives to enhance the shopping experience and meet customer expectations across the globe.
The role available is for a part-time Food and Consumables Associate, focusing on creating an exceptional customer experience while performing various merchandising and stocking duties. This position involves moving incoming merchandise from storage areas to the sales floor, ensuring products are readily available to customers, and maintaining the appearance and organization of the food and consumables department. Associates in this role are expected to engage with customers, provide assistance when needed, and creatively set up seasonal displays that appeal to shopper preferences and seasonal trends.
This part-time position offers shifts during mid-shift hours and closing times, suitable for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements. The wages range from $15 to $28 per hour, with actual pay meeting or exceeding minimum wage requirements for the location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives and premiums that may range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, awarded based on specific criteria like schedule, facility, season, or special job duties. Multiple premiums can apply concurrently if eligibility conditions are met.
Beyond competitive pay, Walmart provides a comprehensive benefits package that supports the health, financial security, and work-life balance of its employees. These benefits include medical, vision, and dental insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; stock purchase options; and company-paid life insurance. Walmart also offers paid time off benefits, such as parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting leave, ensuring associates have time to address personal and family needs. Additional benefits include short and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, and reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses.
Employees are eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO) or Personal Paid Time Off (PPTO), which can be used for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other personal reasons. The amount of PTO earned depends on job classification and length of service and complies with applicable paid sick leave laws. Walmart also invests in the professional growth of its workforce through the Live Better U education program that supports full-time and part-time associates in obtaining high school diplomas, college degrees, or certifications, with all tuition, books, and fees fully covered by Walmart.
Walmart is committed to providing a drug-free workplace, enforcing a strict no-tolerance policy on the use of illegal drugs and alcohol while on the job, fostering a safe and productive working environment for all employees. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to work with a respected retailer that values customer service, safety, and career development.
